Straight through. I was running two of them on my dual exhaust setup... they're quite loud, and didn't sound very great either. But in all fairness my car was pretty much stock when I was running them. Maybe they'd sound better now.

I am running them and I love them. It puts out a very deep aggressive tone to it. Also I have a 2.5" X-pipes dumped at the axle. I think the 2.5" setup sounds better than the 3" IMO

Re: Dynomax race muffler?????

with cats, are they going to be so loud that he's going to be getting hassled by the cops all the time?

i know that they are for race use only, but so is my flowmaster, and its not loud enough to get me pulled over (normal throttle posistions).

thanks for the replies.

Cats will tone it down quite a bit. Is he going to run long tubes? I was also worried about mine being to loud when I bought my setup cause it's a daily driver. So I went with the 2.5" and the longest race bullets Dynomax had, I think it was 21" I will get a vid. later if you want.

no, hes going to be running cats with stock manifolds. its actually a 96 mustang.

is there any material that burns out after a while and makes them louder as they get older?

I have longtubes and No cats. If I was using cats I would proably get the shorter bullets and or use 3" exhaust. I think that would sound pretty dam good on a mustang.

Those vids were with the hotcam? My car sounds TOTALLY different with a Mufflex. I think I might try out a dual exhaust setup because of those videos.

Re: Dynomax race muffler?????

I have an 18inch bullet with not cats, it sounds mean as hell. I have a friend with a 00 GT with magnapacks on it, and it sounds real mean(I beat the crap out of him though), IMO, bullets on a 4.6L GT motor will not get you hassled by the cops, because they tend to idle pretty quietly, and with cats on em, they are real loud at WOT but have a nice mellow sound while cruising. Check out www.magnaflow.com for sound clips of the magnapacks. The bullets will be louder, but not a un-godly loud.

Re: Dynomax race muffler?????

thanks guys, his car is pretty weak. im just helpin him make his car kinda respectible. i already fabbed up a CAI/ram air through his non existing fog lights. and im gonna drop it 2" when he gets springs. and im trying to find some good exhaust. the motor is weak, but they sound like they are screamin at WOT. i just want to up the sound level for him. cheaply.

i know the single chamber flowmaster like ive got would sound good, but he needs two of them, so thats 145 right there. id like to save him some cash.

thanks again,
jeremy

LOL, as a member of corral.net (mustangs), I would suggest you ask there. Chevy and Ford sound totally different with the same parts
