dynomax catback, what are your thoughts?

i posted this in LS1tech but i didnt get any info so here we go. im getting rid of my x-pipe setup and getting a catback but i didnt know what to get. did some searching and i found out that dynomax has a catback which looks pretty nice, but i was sold with the tips that are on there. price is around $400 which isnt too bad, but i want to know what it sounds like? anyone want to help me out should i buy it or am i better off getting something else? just want something thats not too loud, cause im getting an e-cutout for that.

For that price, go for a Magnaflow.

i was debating the magnaflow, but i dont like the tips and the pic that i saw one of the outlets makes a u-turn then a 90* turn again to the pass. side. i guess if i dont find anything im getting an e-cutout and use the stock exhaust.

My Corsa makes a U-turn for the passenger side, and the flow is significantly better than stock. Smooth bends in 3" pipe are far less restrictive than a crappy muffler.

As for the tips... if you don't like what comes with the kit, get different tips. Pretty much anything can be welded on if the pipe diameter is the same, and most F-body exhausts I've seen have 3" pipes.

I just installed the Magnaflow on my 96 z-28 convertible, was going to buy the dynomax for the same reason. I love the sound, definite difference in power as I expected very little and the look is great. You'll love it!

Dynomax systems are good in quality and fit. A bit quieter than most catbacks.
