Dynoed my LE1 Setup.

Got back to the dyno again this weekend. Last week with a weak fuel pump i made 318 hp/339tq with an 18:1 A/F.

This weekend it rolled 380 hp / 350 tq. Over all im pretty happy with it. Guy who did the tuning said with my heavy *** 17x11 replica wheels i was probably showing 10 - 15 HP less.

Tq curve was pretty flat, starting at 2700 rpm it was ~310, peaked about 4500 rpm at 350, then dropped to ~310 at 6500.

HP was a steady climb to about 6100 where it leveled off and stayed to about 6400 when he let off.

Over all im very happy with it.

my 17x11 rims weight LESS then my stock 17x9 rims. 4 lbs less.

With tires though the 17x11 are only 7# heavier. desktop dyno said -3hp difference

Re: Dynoed my LE1 Setup.

A local guy did the tune, picked up about 10 hp, and a lot of down low tq over my mail order.

The guy who did the tuning said did a before and after of someone with stock wheels to an after market 17x11 and the difference was 12 hp.

this was from a stck 16x8 wheel.

Where did you go to get dyno tested? I didn't think we even had a shop witha dyno in Tucson.

Re: Dynoed my LE1 Setup.

Actually, i went to pro dyno in phoenix.

There is a place in tucson called Apex that can dyno, but i wouldnt trust them to tune.

Nic, a guy that i found on one of the local boards was able to tune it for me. He did a good job and really seems to know his stuff. My friend may send his car to him here pretty soon.

Re: Dynoed my LE1 Setup.

I am glad you got the car running right. I bet it feels MUCH better.

It would be tough to see 15 more HP from the wheels but ya never know. I would think about 5 HP would be it but heck, even at 380 RWHP you are making GOOD #'s for a cam that small.

Get to the track with some sticky tires and see what it'll do.

Re: Dynoed my LE1 Setup.

Pretty awesome considering that's 425+ flywheel HP. Any details of how it drives on the street?

A Z28 is rated at 285 hp flywheel horsepower. A stock 6-Speed puts down around 255 horsepower to the wheels. That is a 10.5% loss through the drivetrain. Knowing that, you can figure out 380 rwhp = around 425 fwhp if you believe that the % drivetrain loss stays the same as power increases.

Re: Dynoed my LE1 Setup.

I think the drivetrain loss is closer to 14% on an M6 transmission. (10% would be too efficient ) The 285 HP might just be a bit underated. With a 14% loss, 380 RWHP is ~ 441 flywheel HP.

Jared, can you email me the before and after graphs?

Thanks.
