Dyno'd car today.

I would have the graphs, but the shop never emailed them to me and i dont have a scanner. I will try and get them up tomarrow for you guys to check out though.

max power was 330rwhp and 315 rwtq sae corrected. The wide band meaured from 18 to 10 for a/f ratio...it was flatlining on 10 so it was really rich im just not sure how extreme it was could have been 7,8,9 who knows. This is also through a 3600 vig.

I was very dissapointed at first since the guy at the dyno told me the convertor was locked the whole time, untill i read on here that you cant lock it up at wot unless you have a switch. Am i correct?

So the first thing i did was download tunercat and buy a definition file now im waiting for them to send me the def file and i can start tuning.

mod list
11 to 1 forged 355 4-bolt mains
Ai heads flow 272/192
23?/242 joe o cam
hooker lts
e-water pump
stock opti
taylor 10.4 mm wires
autolite 104s
racetronix fuel pumpkit with booster harness
stock tb
36# inj
stock tranny/3600 vig
stock 10 bolt 4.10s
Think thats about it.

Thanks guys
James

Do you have any datalogs? If so i can have a buddy look at them. He knows his stuff pretty good. He might be able to see if there is anything that sticks out like a sore thumb to him.

I know what you mean lol. The car pulls and runs really good now, and the heads/cam ran an 11.9 when simple on here owned them. So i think its just in the tuning. Tommarow im gona try to get datamaster installed on a burrowed laptop and do some wot logs. Turboz is the guy right?

I was reading a thread earlier and a guy gained 40 rwhp just from throwing his switch to lock up the tc.

Yeah Brad (turbo_z) is the guy. If you get a log just email it to him i'm sure he has his email in his profile. He'll take a look at it. Well if the setup has run well before then that sure helps narrow it down. I don't know anything about a torque converter being locked up as i have a 6spd, i hope thats your only problem. It sure can be draining when you've put all that time, money and work into the car only to have it not live up to your expectations. Goodluck

Re: Dyno'd car today.

James I am sure it's all in tune. My car picked up .5 second at the track with just a tune swap. So that was at least 50hp. It will never make power at those AFR's. You need to get it in 12.9-13.4 AFR area to make the most N/A HP. Later Clint

Brad (Turbo Z) is very knowledgable. He helped me a ton, but forward me your logs as well. I want to take a look also. The car is reallly down on power, but until you take care of that AF, your going to be chasing your tail..

Re: Dyno'd car today.

errr datamaster is pissing me off. I finally got it all downloaded and everything set up and was driving down the street, logging as i went and it lost connection to the pcm for some reason. Ill go to test com and it finds the aldl cable but cant detect a pcm.

Would it do anygood to send you the data log that lasted about 100 secs of just idleing and driving?

Gotta lock that puppy up and lean it out.... then focus on things like timing etc... Just takes time to get there. If it's that lean something else is the problem.

Re: Dyno'd car today.

95% of the time the converter will be unlocked when trying to dyno. Pretty much all our cars need a lockup switch to dyno with. You'll gain a lot of power when you lock it.

Would else could cause it to run extremely rich besides the tune?

Re: Dyno'd car today.

Did you tune those injectors? I know my car was rich and gained 30rwhp just leaning it back out. I got a program from Joe and it runs better than it did when it was dyno tuned. He wouldn't mind sending you one. If not, let me know, I can send you one.

Re: Dyno'd car today.

With enough fine tuning ya could see 35-45WHP. Don't see how it makes any power being that rich.If in fact it IS that rich.
