Dyno'd with 847 and Longtubes - Very Happy!
Dyno'd with 847 and Longtubes - Very Happy!
I was pretty pleased with the results. Dyno'd 358.6 RWHP/357.96 RWTQ, SAE. First pull made 352 with 5* of knock retard throughout the run. I zeroed out the knock retard and it made 358, but ran almost a full point leaner. Got to give props to Ion (MADZ28!) , for a pretty much dead on tune. I will probably send him the dyno sheets and datamaster logs to see if he can tweak it a hair. I must have a miss somewhere, cause it took about 4 pulls before we could get one without a misfire in it, and it was making it so I couldn't see peak power rpm, only by speed. Power peaked at 5800, not sure if thats normal, most people said it likes to rev. Torque peaked at 4700, but it did make over 300 ft/lbs from just under 2500 to almost 6200 rpms. Only sacrified about 8 hp max below 3000 rpms, from there on its making more than the stock cam. At peak hp with the cam, its 70 rwhp more than the stock! Anywho, enough rambling, hopefully going to the track Friday to see if I can back up the numbers with some good e.t.s and traps. Not sure if I'm gonna slick it up or not just yet, as its still a 10 bolt. The 335 nittos should do ok for now for some mid low 12s I hope. I think with a CSI pump and a bigger TB, I might be able to hit 370. Anyone dyno higher with this few mods?

thats great are you on stock heads? I want to go with the same setup and I ran a poll basically between the 306 and the 847. Most people told me not to run the cam on stock heads but I think I will. What lifters, pushrods, and tune did you go with?

Thats the exact cam I am going to swap my hotcam out for... Those dyno numbers are refreshing. Thats good stuff, imagine how much those numbers will rise with ported heads and ported intake manifold

That is stock unported heads and intake. 400 would be insane, and probably very hard on stock heads. I think it would be doable though, if it was cammed to peak at 7000 or around there. Drivability is a lot better than I originally thought. I had a bad o2 sensor and it was dumping fuel, causing it to cam surge BAD. Fied that and it will cruise in 5th at 45mph with 4.10s, so I'm happy. I think thats about 1400 rpms, not sure 100%, my tach is off stupidly.

And i lose my highest stock head hp title by 1 fricken hp
lol.
Congratulations, done on the same cam too. I have the CSI pump and a bigger TB, but i lose lots through the 12 bolt. I think 370+ is very realistic with a fine tuned tune, h20 pump and TB as long as you keep the stock rear. Nice job once again, lets see some ETs!

Great numbers! I would also like to know about all the components of your heads. I will be doing the same thing next summer, so I want an idea of what I will be doing before hand.
Thanks
