Dyno Tune with New Mods

Was wonderin if I got a dyno tune, then switched gears and Stall converters.. would it mess up the tune done on the engine or would it just change shift points etc?

I dont know whats going to come first. Gears and Stall or Dyno Tune.

Re: Dyno Tune with New Mods

it wouldnt throw off the tune itself, but it will need to be recalibrated for the gears

Re: Dyno Tune with New Mods

There are several reputable tuners that will do a mailorder tune for cheap, just use that till all mods are in. The gears and actually the TC will both effect shift points and such. Generally with a higher stall TC you don't have to rev the engine as high past peak power because the looser TC will help keeps revs up after the shift and keep the engine closer to peak power. Engine wise the tuning will not change a lot after the gears and TC but the tuning has to so wait to do the dyno tuning till all the major stuff is done. Plus given your location you are not near the budget tuners so I would guess that you would be charged a bit for the gear and TC tuning after you spend all that money on the dyno.
