Dyno Results - A little odd

Larger version

Results seem inline with what I expected, but the lines are pretty wild.
Someone suggested it was knock, the person who ran car on the dyno it was probably the transmission (he felt something odd).

I'll have it looked at before I run it at the track.
But overall I am happy.

Re: Dyno Results - A little odd

I dont know enough about dynos to say that it is or is not a tranny.

However, how does it sound/seem to drive? Smooth winding out? Did you see anyone else dyno that day?

That alsmot looks like you have an intermittany missfire. If you did though the AF should be a little more wavey or least I would think ? Plugs and wires?

Clogged / dirty injectors? Do a full tune up and try her again.

Re: Dyno Results - A little odd

Car idles pretty smooth, for a 350 with a 3" anyhow.
The shifts are firm, (still chirps into 2nd) and now that I am listening, I can hear a thunk when it shifts.

I'm going to replace plugs when I do my headers next week.
I'm thinking of going with OTVC wires, might as well do it while I am down there.

Thanks for the ideas, I'll follow up on the suggestions.

You'll fix the graph a lot when you turn the SAE Smoothing to 5.

Not bad numbers for a A4 that doesnt have headers on it yet BTW.

And if your doing over the valve cover wires, I suggest elite spark plug. Their products are pretty awesome for the price.

Re: Dyno Results - A little odd

The thunk when It shifts could be your transmission mount bushing, happened on my old A4. Not bad numbers though.

Nice numbers for your mods., yeah it would be a good time to upgrade to a poly trans mount.

Seems like people lately have been having not so great experiences with elite spark plugs (myself included). If I've had a good experience with a vendor or store I'll definitely recommend them. However, if I have a bad experience I'll let it be known so that other people don't have to go through what I did.

Your probably too lean, that might be why its wavy. My brothers mustang was very choppy on the dyno due to it being too lean (looked like misfire). We richened it up and the curve got real smooth.

Dude change it and post the graph. Everyone's graphs are crazy when there's no smoothing.

Ditto on the smoothing. Set it to 5 and repost the graph. Your wasting
time making decisions with the current graph. All graphs are jumpy with
ZERO smoothing.
