Dyno numbers w/Ultraflow

I finally had a chance to make another dyno run now that I
have switched out the Flowmaster 10 series race mufflers
with a Dynomax Ultraflow. The bottom line is a loss of 5 rwhp.

If you have not followed my previous posts I originally dynoed
a Flowmaster catback system at 298 rwhp, then switched to a
true dual system with 10 series race mufflers that dynoed at
310 rwhp. These are STP numbers I am quoting here which are
4% higher than SAE numbers.

Considering how quiet my car is with the Ultraflow it's worth a
drop to 305 rwhp. I will post the dyno sheet once I get back home
and also put up a video if it turned out OK. I also need to update
my sig once I figure out the SAE hp and tq numbers.

So you've still go the dual exhaust, but now you've got dual ultra flows instead of the flows?

You guys realize he went from 2 race mufflers to a much quieter single dynomax muffler right? Unless I'm mistaken, the pic of his new muffler is one, and not two. Not a bad loss if it quiets it down that much. Hell, the dynomax still had a GAIN against the flowmaster catback, of 7 rwhp. Maybe flowmaster does still suck.

Yes, the exhaust system is still a "true dual" with the Ultraflow.
The Ultraflow has two separate parallel paths within a single case
and it functions like dual bullets only quieter because off the
larger case volume and additional packing.

This dyno result just seems to generate more questions rather
than provide answers. Is it possible that the 5 rwhp is a result
of additional pipe? The pipe layout was much simpler with the
Flowmasters. The Ultraflow probably added another 4 to 5 feet
of pipe length to the overall system.

I am definately satisfied with the quietness of the Ultraflow. If
you want a quiet/sleeper type sound I highly recommend it. It's
fun to pull up to a really loud Mustang and then blow his doors
off.

Not to stir the pot, but a 5hp variance between two different days, even on the same dyno, means nothing. My car will fluctuate 5hp within the same three pulls.

Definately true. Just providing data for those to do whatever they want
with it. You will notice that the price was right. I did three pulls and they
went something like this: 300, 298, 305 with the last pull after a longer
cool down period with a fan. My car definately likes the fan.

Edited to add that I followed as close to the exact same dyno
pull scenario when I tested the Flowmaster 10 series mufflers.
The pulls were very similar with the last being the highest (310)
after a longer cool down with the fan.

Do you have pics of your entire exhaust setup? I would love to see some. Thanks.
