well, pulled the dynaspark after 4500 miles (cam swap time). the unit is still has no play in the bearings, and the o ring seal(its sealed to the timing cover) kept ALL the grit and crap out of it as they said it would.
so far, so good! two thumbs up...

I've had my Dynaspark in for about 3k miles (but do not plan to pull it to check jack!
).
While the price of admission is high, it is a quality piece of work, and very well engineered. I'm pleased. I just hope it works for a very, very long time.

hmmmm well after trying the LTCC and being junk i think i might have to pick one of these dynasparks up! i dont think this stock replacement opti can handle 700+ HP NEMORE
i was having nemerous problems with mine blowing up after 100-300 miles of use
which i think was due to my cam dowel being too long
soo ive cut it down and i will see how this opti holds up! if it blows i guess ill have to spring for the dynaspark
its gotta be worth it if jordan says! thats like siskel and ebert giving two thumbs up

but 100-300 miles before they blow
i think it was that dowel! like i said ill just see how long this one lasts me

How does the interior of the optical sensor section look, compared to the stocker? Does it appear to have better sealing? Is the seal at the harness connector upgraded? Does the bearing look like it will hold up better?
Would there be any way to reduce the "cap" to a simple cover, for those of us who only need the optical sensor?
I've been using a stock vented Opti for 3 years, but only the optical sensor to feed my MoTec/LS1 coils setup, and so far it has been faultless. I also know George Baxter's supported over 1,100HP, close to 8K RPM and lasted more than 5 years with the same setup. But that car was never driven in the rain.
I'd be interested in an upgrade if the bearing looked better, and the bulk could be reduced by reducing the height of the cap.

Not doubting one bit..but Ill wait until you guys make it past the OEM level (~100,000miles) before I make any decisions. No way would I spend the extra cash if the lifetime is realtively the same.
Glad to hear that they are beefed up over the stockers..maybe the route for some of the Anti-Opti people that keep chewing these things up.
