simply put... NO
i am sure people will come in here talking about how there 700 dollar borla out flows my 50 dollar flowmaster, but its okay, i've beat enough of them to not care.
your money is best spent elsewhere if your happy with the sound, because really, thats the biggest difference. buy some longtube headers and you will gain leaps and bounds more then you would possibly gain with a different catback (even the best flowing catback).

Re: dump the flow master?
I cut my flowmaster muffler off of the 3" cat-back i had. No noticable diffence. Maybe a tiny bit up top but not worth it. It's pretty loud, i like it, but it can get annoying on long trips.
Re: dump the flow master?
I have yet to see someoen post actual results showing a flow master is bad... IMO for the price its well worth it... Spending $400 more on a better catback isnt worth the 5hp gain at most you might get....
keep the flowmaster, get a cutout, and be happy

Re: dump the flow master?
yeah the borla are exspensive but their is other exhaust systems out their that are giving bigger gains than the crapmaster fo the same price or even cheaper my eldbrock rpms series put 7 hp more than the crapmaster atleast that is what my dynos showed
Re: dump the flow master?
it isnt neccessarily that the borla can give you an extra 5HP compared to the flowmaster (in relations to a stock motor) it's that the borla will hinder your modifications less, it will be less of a bottle neck when you have a heavier breathing monster.
For example:
If you have a supercharged LT1 at say 10PSI (stick with me here lol), can you see how much the flowmaster will hinder the performance a lot more than the borla now? where the borla may give you an additional 35HP (from stock) where-as the flowmaster may give 10HP (from stock)... just an example, not real numbers, just giving you an idea of why the Borla exhaust is more

This must be at least the 3rd time I've posted that my last car picked up 40 rwhp (!) by ONLY replacing a 2 chamber FlowSmasher with an SLP muffler. Don't believe me, call David or Geoff at Thunder Racing. They were there.
It went from 310 rwhp to 350 rwhp.

Re: dump the flow master?
My last car's nitroused/stroked 383 saw a nice improvement when I ditched the Flowmaster for a Magnaflow. Unfortunately, my butt-o-meter doesn't qualify as a dyno test.
