Dumb TB bypass Question

Attemting bypass, got a '94 by the way, took off intake elbow. The dirver's side hose is easy as pie. But the passenger side?
Holy #%$%. I can barely see it much lets get to it to remove it. How did you all do it, already smashed my hand up pretty good trying to pry it off w/ a screwdriver. Help spare me from more pain!

Thanks...l.

Take the throttle body off the car, buy a new gasket. And clean the hell out of the throttle body with carb clean. Makes it easier to do tb bypass, and a clean throttle body increased throttle response. Hope this helps, prorac1

I did the same thing, I cut the hose as close to the connector pipe as possible. You'll love this mod I can touch my TB with the car running without burning my hand. Just try to find caps for each end of the TB pipes.

why would you need caps for the tubes, theres no coolant in there any more?

I capped it for one reason only. Should I ever go back to stock set-up, for whatever reason that maybe, I didn't want dead bugs/engine grime in the coolant system. Your choice. Alot of people choose not to cap it.

Thanks guys, I cut the hose off the passenger side, the only hose left is what covers the long 90* nipple on the tb. Unfortunately can't cap it.

At what point does coolant circulate through this part of the system? at start-up of opening of thermostat? I want to check for leaks

Thanks again

seams to be spraying. so i shut her down removed the elbow. underside of elbow is slightly wet this is where the new barbed connection is located, adjacent to thermostat housing. I also saw a bit of coolant on housing as well. the connections are tight maybe I"ll double up on the hose clamps to make a better seal. What do you think?
Nothing can be coming out of throttle body right? and the tee connection where the passenger side hose originated from seems ok as well.

Opticrap, my first fear how long to i know if its screwed or not?

I guess i should of also mentioned to put a rags under the TB incase antifreeze comes out. If it were me I would take it all apart and start over, making sure each connection wasn't cracked. Also, try some sealing compound on the barb before you put in unto the hose. I ran my hose under the elbow and zip tied it to it to keep it ou tof the way. Let us know what happens.

Funny thing is i hag rag underneath to catch what came out during install. But removed them when I fired her up. Out of habit I don't like anything under the hood that doesn't belong there while she's running.

At any rate I slid the hose clamps all the way to the edge of hoses and put other ones on as well where the barbed connector ends. Seems ok running 10 minutes don't see anything bad yet.

If she seems to be running the same as before is it safe to assume the opticrap is o.k.? How will I know for sure. Hate to have this on my mind for God knows how long.

Again thanks to all who replied & helped. Good to know this place rocks w/ cool people that share their insight experience & knowledge, even though I knew it before..

Thanks again

There may be nothing wrong with the opti at all. If you did get liquid in the unit it will rust out the relays over time and the crank arm will no longer be able to read them and fire the spark plugs accordingly. Chances are you're fine.
