Dual filter Oil filter????
Dual filter Oil filter????
Guys I'm switching to synthetic on weds...my uncle says to get the dual guard oil filter or whatever its called where it filters the oil twice...I've heard great things about them but I've also heard they adversly effect oil pressure any truth to that?
I know that...thats what I don't know...some people swear by these things, but if it cuts oil flow significantly thats a bad thing and I've never used them...I'm leaning towards normal filters at this point.

Im using a fram duel guard oil filter, I think its the one? Its black if that helps :P. But my oil pressure is 40 idle, and between 40-60 driving around.

UHHHH 40 after its warmed up???? Thats high.
Guys I think he is talking about the dual filter system. One filter goes down to like 20 microns and then a second filter goes down to like 5 microns. Amsoil sells one of these systems and says you can use the same synthetic oil for like 30 to 40k you just change the filters regularly and add whatever the filter change took out.
Kind of elaborate I think unless you have a super high potency engine. On a basically stock motor it would be overkill in my opinion.
