Dual cat y-pipe bolt up to single cat hooker shorties?

How close will a dual cat y-pipe come to bolting onto a set of single cat hooker shorties? I can get a killer deal on a set for a single cat car, but i want to stay emissions legal. I will probably need to have a custom y-pipe made, but would they be able to get the cats close to the stock location so i can pass emisions? Will a dual cat y-pipe come close to bolting up to that might be able to be modified just a little bit?

Will i be able to get these to fit, or is it not worth my time?

No, a stock dual cat y would not work, it would not come close at all. You can use the Hooker shorties you just need to get a single cat style y pipe and a single 3" cat. Or like you said you may be able to have a dual cat y custom made but that would change the stock location of the cats. If AZ emissions are like CA (which I hear they are) that might not be legal.
