Dropping an LT1

Is there a guide to dropping an lt1 out from under the car? Ive pulled a 3.8 from an fbody before but that took me way too long and i want this time to be as quick and painless as possible..

Thanks

Unbolt the engine, lower it a little and give it a shove off the jack. Can't guarantee the painless part, but it'll drop nonetheless.

Where is the best place to hook onto when lifting the body off of the motor?

I used the metal cross member just in front of the plastic radiator cover, I used a 2" wide nylon strap. Just don't lift from this point with the motor still attached, just too much weight.

I've seen people use the hood latch (not the piece on the hood, but the one attached to the car). You'd be surprised at what that thing can hold. Also, like wrd1972 said, don't lift with the motor still attached.

Ok thanks. All that holds the k-member in is the 2 huge bolts on either side and the shock tower mounts right?

And is ther anything i should do while i have the motot out besides clean, cam, and headers? Motor mounts maybe? The car itself has 105k on it.
