DROPPED something in my Motor Update

Well i took my passenger side head off to discover A Dang Screw fell into head and was resting on my piston slapping off the valves , The piston was just scuffed up I was told that i could sand it a little, then clean up the valves, And the valves were not bent or anything so i hope i can put it back together and it will last until I get my 355 built

Anyone care to comment and give me any opinions? You think my motor will last with the screw scuffing the piston ? Cylinder walls were fine too... My new shortblock should be completed around june, Just going to drive my car couple times a week if all goes well when I reinstall the head..

Piston should be fine if ya get all the high spots off. Put solvent in the intake and exhayst ports of that cyl and see if it leaks out. Some seapage(meaning wet in 30 min)is expected but not running out. If it runs out get the valves ground or they will be burnt in a 500 miles.
A valve won't take much beating on.
