DROPPED something in my Motor :(
DROPPED something in my Motor :(
Well I decided to do the intake manifod leak this weekend , and somehow i dropped something into the passenger side head maybe fell down injector hole..
And I didnt know until i started the car and hear knocking but its in the head, I think something is holding the valve open causing it to knock....
Should I just pull the passenger side head and see if any valves are bent?
or try to get it out of the head thru the intake ports, Ive got this flexible camera thing to see thru the ports tommorow.. How long will to take to pull the passenger side head?

Re: DROPPED something in my Motor :(
I did something similar once, I can't what tool I dropped, but it disappeared somewhere in the engine bay. On the highway later that day I heard something clank out from underneath my car.
I know the feeling but your in a much worse situation then I was! Best of luck.

Re: DROPPED something in my Motor :(
Depending on what you dropped in there, you may be looking at a full rebuild. Sorry.
It only takes a second to destroy a head, piston, rod, cylinder wall...

Re: DROPPED something in my Motor :(
Pull the head. Whatever got dropped is probably lodged in the top of the piston or head. Good luck, I've been there.
A few years ago I had a fault TB airfoil come apart and a piece got sucked in. It was a very small part and didn't score the cylinder walls, but I still replaced a piston and had to do some cleanup on the head. If the object is big enough, it could ruin the rod, score the walls, etc.
