driveshaft vibration

I did a search and all it did was add to my confusion-
I had my transmission rebuilt and under heavy throttle there is some serious vibration. I suspect the driveshaft- I asked the mechanic if he was sure the driveshaft was installed the same way it was, and he said that doesn't matter.

How do I "rotate the ds 180 degrees"?
Does this mean that I take the whole ds loose, and switch the transmission end to the differential end? Is this possible?
Or do I simply take it loose at the transmission, and rotate the ds 180 degress, and re-bolt it? (How does this have any effect if the ds spins 360?)

Rotaing 180 degrees means disconnecting it at the rear end, where it is attached by 2 u-bolts, turning it 1/2 turn and reattaching the u-bolts. Torque them properly. Sorry I don't have the manual here, but I can look up the torque spec tomorrow if you need it. PM me.

It can matter. Some folks mark the u-joint/rear end flange position before they remove a driveshaft.

It shouldn't make any difference, but since all parts are not perfect, it could have gotten very "comfortable" the way it has run with the mating parts.

A u-joint could be going bad, or a trans mount. I'm surprised the mechanic didn't check that kind of thing...no, I'm really not.
