Driver's Side Header Primary Problem??
After my engine was put back in all of you guys that have the Hooker LT's know what i'm talking about....the primary that has the "slip fit" that you slide the first primary into on the driver's side is leaking like crazy. WHAT can i do besides band clamping the heck outta it which won't work to keep it from leaking???
I figured it would reseal itself with exhaust suit but has not
Would putting some heat wrap around it solve the problem b/c we've tried raming it down in there and it will not seal. I thought maybe trying some high temp RTV but that will look like crap and prob. just melt off.
Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I tried everything on mine a while back. band-clamps, high temp rtv and couldnt get anything to work...ended up welding them together..it was fun putting the header back in though! Had to lift the motor and loosen the kmember bolts

I thought I might end up after trying all those things welding it there also.............surley there is a fix for that as many of those dang things that's on our cars out there and on this board i know either you and I are doing something wrong or they've all not had this problem
About the cutout-just pm me..thanks!

I got some rings from a local exhaust shop that are designed to increase the outside diameter of an exhaust pipe. I used these rings to make the OD on both pipes 2". Then I covered everything in copper RTV and put it together. Then, I covered the inside of a 3" wide 2" diameter band clamp. I put that on and tightened it, and wiped off the extra RTV. I can say without a doubt that mine isn't leaking. If you want more information, I might be able to get some pictures for you.
