Driver side MAC header removal question.

I have the ('94-'95) MAC shorty/mid-length headers on my '95 Z28 right now. I want to put these headers on my '96 Z28 (already have the things needed to convert to single cat). My question is, when I remove the driver side MAC header (one with slip tube) can I leave the slip tube on and pull the header out, or do I have to remove the slip tube from the header? (which will be a PITA). Looks like if I remove the steering linkage it should be o.k., but you never know and I was wondering what others have done. Thanks!

Re: Driver side MAC header removal question.

You can pull the header out as one piece if you pull the steering linkage. It will still come out easier than the passenger side.

Yes you can put it in too... I put mine in as one piece even though it wasn't welded.
