I just posted a link to a server-no ownership or anything else claimed by me . It is the same document on CD that I paid money for more than a year ago, except that it does not take a password to open it.

My buddy and I created it and long ago (a year) someone stole it at began distributing it on ebay for about $20 a pop. I had quite a few shut down....but more and more pop up. I decided to give it away to all so they wouldn't be ripped off by these people on ebay. Now its getting taken from my website and being put on other websites with no gratitude. I don't think that a few lines of thanks is that much to ask for. The mod at ProjectTransAm.com is being a jackass and claiming no responsibility since "someone else" gave him the file. I can assure you I began to distribute it on the net...check this thread ( http://www.camarov6.com/cgi-bin/ulti...c&f=1&t=009891 )...it is the earliest this file has been seen on the boards. Enough ranting for now....I'm out.

Well thanks to "The Pink Panther" for creating this if that is who you are. Thanks again to shoebox for showing us were to get it from. I've read over all this real carefully and I don't believe that shoebox ever claimed ownership. He gives alot of his free time away on the site trying to help people out. He doesn't strike me as the kind of person that would claim something as his if it wasn't. I think that maybe you are out of line. Maybe you owe someone an apology. Why did you create it? Was it to help out other people? I really don't see what you're so upset about. Do you own this file? Looks like something that you got from GM and put into pdf format. How does that make you own anything. Using that logic, couldn't I put a Haynes manual in pdf format, distribute it at will and claim it as mine. I can understand a man wanting credit for compiling this info but I think you'll get alot further if you don't come here ranting, "Why do people always steal my ****. My owner password on the acrobat file....my file." How do you think this makes you sound? What else of yours has been stolen anyway?
Anyway, a for shoebox and for the Pink Panther. Feel better now?

This is you from that thread, "I bought it on ebay for $30. I think the company I got it from just ripped it off though. It came on a burned CD. They suspended my account when I tried to resell it for $10. Money hungry ******. So now I am giving it away."
So you stole it right. And what point are you trying to make here. I think you just got by yourself. I was trying to be polite before. Give you something to think about so maybe you'd quit making yourself look so bad, but then you had to post something that makes you look like a thief. Please stop your

The original document was created 12/4/2001.

Hmm... your post said you bought it off Ebay and then tried to resell it. Not sure I understand all this. I don't see any warnings about rehosting or giving credit, so I don't see how you can gripe.

The CD I bought did not come from Ebay, but an auto parts supplier (maybe they sell on Ebay, too, I don't know).

I bought it on ebay for $30. I think the company I got it from just ripped it off though. It came on a burned CD. They suspended my account when I tried to resell it for $10. Money hungry ******. So now I am giving it away.

Yes...I bought a CD off ebay that had all the diagrams as JPG's. So a buddy and I compiled it into one large PDF and tried to sell it on ebay. Sold about 2 and the guy got mad...contacted ebay and got my account suspended. Then my file starts being distributed by others and I tried to get them suspended because they were selling the direct file. I did a lot of work compiling and making the bookmarks so it was convient and ****. Y'all can **** off if you don't believe me...I don't give a ****...Just tryin to point out where it came from.

I have a manual that covers all of the Firebird models with over 2,000 pages on disk. If I can figure out how to put it on-line, I'll post and let all of you fellow Trans-Am owners know.

So why is it you think your account on eBay got suspended? Maybe because you were trying to sell something as yours that wasn't? Who here is trying to sell anything? I agree that you did, "a lot of work compiling and making the bookmarks so it was convient.." but does that make it "your" file? Can I "compile" and "index" a Haynes manual, sell it on eBay, and then moan and complain if anyone wants to distribute it because it is mine? I for one don't think shoebox did anything wrong. Once again, are you the Pink Panther? On this point I am confused. If you are trying to point out where it came from then it has duly been noted.

Let's see... you ripped off some guy on ebay who was, in turn, simply ripping off GM and you're trying to take credit for all this? Sorry buddy. Two wrongs don't make a right. This was a cheap scam intended to make a few bucks selling ripped off and cheaply burning CDROMS. I generally wouldn't have a problem with it but you're turning it into an issue.

and for all..... too all..... everything on my site is for the enthusiast.

(just please no photoshop images of my ride with altezzza's...)

How much did that "File" cost....... $30 ...... ?

My web site has been up and running for a couple years now.... ive been paying $25 a month... and everything on my site is FREE for download.

I cant stand stingy bastards that want to take from others, do something to it and call it their own.

Maybe i will give my scanner a work out, and rip off my haynes manual today..... its raining anyway.

how about $35 for a PDF haynes manual........
I'll even throw in a custom label and a cd case.

To 385lt1,
I'd love to have a copy of that too. Also, I really like your explanation with pics on your website titled "I.A.C. EXTRA IDLE AIR PROJECT." It's the best written explanation I've seen on this yet.
To speedyv6camaro,
I did a little research today and now I know a couple of other things about you I can point out here if you want to keep pushing this. Do I need to say more? Just let it drop already. I for one like shoebox. Anyone who spends that much of their free time trying to help out other people is probably a good person. Just let it go. You don't own it. If anyone does it's GM.

I have the Firebird manual..... but unfortunatley all the exposure my site has got from everyone downloading. My bandwidth usage has gone through the roof.

I am in the middle of upgrading my account to allow more bandwidth usage. As soon as i get things sorted out, i will upload the whole firebird manual to my server and post a link available for download.

www.AbrinoPerformanceEngineering.com

Im working on it.......
