Double Roller on a 93 LT1

Will a Cloyes Timing Chain set [CL-3145 ] fit on a 93 LT1 with an electric water pump with the original timing cover?

I know that it will work on my 95 however, a friend wants to install a double roller on his 93.

Thanks

Mike

Should be the same. I bought a 93 motor with one so I assume it works.

No it will not. 93-94 got shafted. You have to get a 95 timing cover only, then all the gaskets and what not.

In addition to the 95 timing cover, it needs to be converted to a 95+ Opti, including a new piece of wiring harness and a longer pin for the cam. And the early LT1 cams (including aftermarket) didn't have a hole big/deep enough for the 95+ Opti guide shaft, so it may need to be drilled. Don't try doing this with it installed, I did this and got slightly off-center, which shook the Opti to death within 200 miles. Later all aftermarket LT1 cams came with the bigger hole and longer pin.

You'll need to swap cams, sorry, no way around it.
