Don't want a mess when i do compression test

I am about to do a compression test. What do i do to the system so i can safely do this? I assume you unplug the coil but do you need to disable the fuel pump of other things? I would hate to miss a basic step. I would think you could pull a fuse but thats just a guess.

unplug the coil, remove the fuel pump fuse, relieve the pressure in the fuel line using the schrader valve. this is what i do when i am checking compression

just my opinion.
