First time to the track with the McLeod Street Twin.

Wow.

Anyone got any tips for launching with this bad boy? It grabs from idle and burns the tires. What's everyone's technique for launching on street tires/drag radials?

Oh yeah, I'm using the crappy Nittos still. I still don't like these tires.

My short times tonight ranged from 2.10 (first and best) to 2.26 (worst) out of 5 runs. I would heat the nittos up, stage, and let out anywhere from idle to 2500 rpm.

Someone help!! My times suck because of this!

 

now all you need are some et drags or et streets and a 12 bolt and youll be pulling 1.4's in no time well as long as you have the engine to back it up... which judging by someone who needs a street twin you should

 

Yeah, the 12 bolts gonna happen. I've got the cash right now to get one, but I'm paying a guy to do my head/cam package next week. If I be real frugal, and let the credit card balance stay high, I should be able to get a 12 bolt by the end of the summer I would think.

Still though, my total goal for the car is 11's in street trim/10's race trim. Trim being street rims/tires and slicks/skinnies. I gotta figure out how to launch with the drag radials.
