Does this wear look normal? (PIC)

Just wanted to get some replies from some of the experienced people here that have done engine rebuilds, ect. Below is a pic of my stock head at 74k miles right after I took it off. Does it look like normal wear? Not sure what any of the signs would be if something may need attention. Both heads look pretty much the same as far as color, carbon build up, ect.

Thanks

looks OK, but you probably had a valve stem seal leaking. that is pretty much standard on a car w/your miles

quick qusetion for you Jeff, do you have the part number for the one piece pan gasket that you used. I have seen them for the old style 350, but I did not know they made them for the LT1.

Thanks,

Ian

Sorry dude, I threw the box out. I got it at O'Rellys(sp?). It is a one piece gasket. The instuctions said to install it dry without RTV in the corners like the stock gasket. Their is alot more area on the corners than the stock one btw. It also came with a gasket that I believe goes to the oil pickup thingy were the filter goes. I didn't use it though.

Yeah, mine looked like that. Except the exhaust valve had a little white on it. I guess I'm running a bit hot.
