Does the mallory 685 make the car harder to start?

I put on a ported intake manifold/58mm throttle body, and mallory 685 box at the same time, and now my car is harder to start. It starts fine, but it takes a few seconds of cranking for it to start now.

no...you may have something crossed. i installed a TB, did the "anti-coolant mod" and the crane fireball ignition at the same time and i had a high rpm due to too much play in the TB. no issues of hard starting...until my starter started failing. new starter and it's good now though

I don't have any issues with hard starting with mine. Are you sure you don't have the start retard function advanced too much? I have mine set down to 0 or 0.1, something along those lines.

Mine started with hard starts... and now it's been acting very weird... it's making my engine explode Sometimes when I start it up it seems a small detonation will occur... looks like the timing goes crazy I disconnected...

Re: Does the mallory 685 make the car harder to start?

i have a crane ignition for sale

really though, i dont know what your problem could be. if you didnt program the ECM, didnt touch the cam/timing chain, and didnt rotate the crank without the chain attached then you shouldnt be off for timing.

does the mallory have a retard function? is it set too high?
