Does a bent pushrod cause knock retard?
I am down on power somewhere. (about 10-20hp) and I cant figure out where. Right now I think its either the valvesprings or I have a bent pushrod. The valvesprings have 78k on them.
The pushrods, even though they are hardened, have not been treated all that nice. I have done the 1-2-1 shift more than a couple times, so the car has been over reved. I am just not sure if I have a bent one or not. Is there a way to find out without taking them all out?

Yes, a bent pushrod will cause knock retard, but it's not the only thing that may cause it, so I wouldn't make an assumption based only on that.
You might want to get yourself a stethoscope and try to see if there's more noise coming from a certain cylinder. That may help narrowing down a little bit. Other than that, I don't know of any other way besides removal and physical inspection.
