Do you want to know horse power gains from bolt ons?

I found these two pages to help with people making bolt on decisions.

These are dyno graphs from each mod:

http://www.ws6.com/mycar.htm

This is a chart with some of the break downs of the hp and tq gained from the mods:

http://www.ws6.com/bangbuck.htm

Enjoy.

Yes, he did a great job on those bolt-on mod dynos.
It's a shame that site hasn't been updated in so long.
I wonder what ever happened to that guy?

Wow, rates are cheap in Toronto these days.
That kind of thing costs at least $75 down here.

Adjustable Regulator 16.6 14.6 13.9 15.4 $100

He got that much hp and torque from a fuel pressure regulator? If i got one what should i bump the psi too

You don't want to "bump" it. You lower it because the factory tune is fat up top. He had his set at 36 psi. He said he actually made more power at 35 psi, but he didn't have a wideband on it to know how lean it was running and didn't want to hurt it. You can read this on the dyno graph he has comparing the difference. If you get custom computer tunning, an afpr is not needed, unless you plan to spray the car, then it's a good idea.

Note that by leaning out the engine by reducing the FP did not provide long term gain, i.e, the PCM adjusts the injectors to compensate for the lean condition and you are back where you started----no gain.

The only way to maintain any gains from adjusting the A/F is by tuning the PCM.

This is true, and you can't even change the a/f in closed loop operation. The only changes that can be made are in open loop, which is cold operation and WOT applications.

It appears there are always new people discovering things that seem very old for some of us.

I guess this is very old, but this is quite new to me. I'm most surprised that the TB bypass netted more peak and avg power than the electric wp! Definitely bookmarking that page.

The PCM does not do any adjusting for WOT, it realies on the additional fuel programmed for PE mode and does not try to adjust to a certain AF based on O2 feedback. Therefore, WOT gains by lowering fp and making it run leaner at WOT does provide a long term gain...but this then affects all of the cruise and idle settings and the PCM will adjust if it can..you could make it run too lean across the spectrum if the PCM reaches its max adjustment point with the fuel integrators. IMO adjust fp is a band aid, control WOT fueling by changing the tune in the PCM as Bubba suggests.
