Do T56's tend to slip out of gear.
Do T56's tend to slip out of gear.
I recently had an accident where my car rolled away when i parked it. I didnt have the e-brake set.
It was parked on a flat part of the driveway and i am positive i put it into 1st gear. It was some what of a windy day.
Could the wind have gently rocked the the car and cause it to slip out of gear?
The reason i ask is b/c the car was totaled this way and my insurance company is calling it a collision even though i was no where near the car when i happened. It had been parked for about a half hour before it rolled. I would like to try and get this changed to a comprehensive loss.
And yes, always set the e brake
I heard from an autodealer friend of mine that they are notorious for slipping out of gear? Any truth to that?

Mine rolled once in a parking lot, but I`m pretty sure I left it out of gear. But, It does pop out of gear every one in a while when I downshift to second. I don`t know if the trans is getting worn out (I don`t have many miles on it so I don`t think so maybe I don`t get it in gear far enough ) or they tend to have that problem.
