1LE AC delete pulley from ebay. It's a cheap piece of crap made in china. I put it on and now I need a new belt! It HAS to be shorter. What's worse is like a retard I didn't do a search on here and come to find out I could have got one on from gmpartsdirect for CHEAPER........SHIPPED!!! Sorry to hear about this experience, the seller has sold a bunch of these according to his ratings and has 100% seller score. Try contacting him and see if you can work somthing out, i bet he would hate for you to hammer him on his score.

 

That's lesson #2 on this...I never leave feedback untill I use the product to make sure it's good. Well guess what, I was on ebay leaving feedback on another product and had already recieved this and figured what the hell, why not kill 2 birds with one stone and left + feedback for them too. There goes the bargaining chips!! Oh well, better a ~$50ish $$ part than $1000.00 part. I'll get a shorter belt and all will be fine I'm sure. It just pisses me off that they said "retain stock belt length and placement" when it does not. My main thing is to not let anyone else make the same mistake I did. The "true" 1LE pulley is probably better constructed and IS cheaper...... buy it!

well, if you're really concerned about wasting the money, why not go to your local shop and get a bigger pulley? it's bound to be better than that dorkey looking POS and probably fit better too. i havent checked the local parts stores here but i know one guy near the base i work at had some spare pullies of all different sizes. innies and outties, big adn little, sealed bearings and non...whatever you needed just rummage through till you found it.

 

When you say "don't buy from Ebay", that's really a misnomer. Ebay is not the problem, your seller (or his product) was. He is not "Ebay".

I am kinda shocked that the a/c delete bracket is popular enough that they make cheap knock-offs.

 

Because I thought I was going the cheap EASY route. When they say the CHEAP, EASY route will be harder and cost more.........they are correct!!


Shoebox, as far as saying ebay was the problem....you are correct, I should not have said that. I posted a link so people can see the ONE I'm referring to. I have bought many high quality name brands from ebay and will continue to buy from there, just a little more selectively.

I think i have that same cheap "ebay" brand, and it causes my belt to wobble, and it definitely affects my charging/alt system.

Does someone have a part # or link to a good A/C delete pulley?

Do you have to use a delete pulley, can't you just by pass it all together with a shorter belt? If so, whats size belt will i need?

Reading the part number directly off my GM A/C delete pulley, GM10115875. I know GM Parts Direct sells them. If you google the part number, you may find some other vendors that sell them as well.

 

Jim Pace Pontiac in Niles, OH stocks them. Jason Cromer or Dal might also.

Any dealer is going to be able to get/sell a GM part.

 

Eh, just stating places that seem to stock them at competative prices. Many non performance oriented dealerships sell them at a much greater markup.

I got mine from my local Chevy (GM) dealer. The factory peice is not very impressive either. Especially the bearing and wheel. If I remember correctly, the bearing had a sticker saying made in Chine or some forgien country. The pulley wheel is composit material. I also had to change belts. I think some get lucky and others dont, like me.
