Do I really need to re-route fuel lines for True Duals?!

I hadn't even thought about this, but a few people have just told me i have to relocate the fuel lines for my true duals.

I plan on running Pacesetter longtubes into 3" pipes into a 3" X pipe into 3" Sweet Thunder mufflers and dumping them before the axel.

What all will i need to do to relocate the fuel lines? Can i just buy stainless steel lines or something?

Thanks guys,

Shawn

2 years of true duals and I didn't do anything. I did wrap the fuel filter area with heat wrap, but thats it, and only because the turn outs blow almost directly on that area.

If the fuel lines are too close to the exhaust it could cause problems. Generally moving the fuel lines is not necessary though. If you look at the catalytic converter you'll see that it has a shield on it to protect the surrounding area from heat. You could do the same on any pipe too close to your fuel lines, as well as some insulation wrap. If you can't find it at your parts store, Summit sells lots of different stuff depending on what you're trying to do.

I was thinking of taking the heat sheilds i had, cutting them, and self-tapping screw them around the few lines. would that work or are heat wraps good enough?

What I did was flip the little plastic fuel line holder around so that the fuel lines were higher up in the DS tunnel.

Did you have to lengthen the lines at all? I havent really looked underneath to so what i could do. Its still really wet out from the snow melting.

This is bat Country....

No, there is nothing to lengthen. Just take the 10mm bolt out and flip the plastic holder upside down so it moves the lines farther up.

I'm feeling lightheaded, maybe you should drive...

Oh ok, I'll have to do that then. Did you use any kind of heat shielding?

Nobody pushed you, you fell....
