Do i need a programmer or what.

When i race my car or have the pedal to the floor my car in second gear pops ridiculously loud and sounds like its cutting out then after a few seconds itll shift on into third. Im sure this just my car hitting the rev limiter. If i got a programmer would it cure the problem.

When you say it pops, do you mean out from the exhaust? It could just be because you have no muffler. My Flowmaster pops occasionally. I think it's common.

Yeah its coming from the exhaust, cause i have no muffler or cat, friend said fire was spitting out one night. Anyways, when all the popping starts the car feels like its hitting a wall then after a little bit it shifts into third.

Sounds like a misfire. I'd check your wires for rub throughs. How long has it been since an opti swap?
