Do I need 2 cats?

I have a 97 camaro Rs vert. I just bought a wrecked 97 z28 hardtop for a v8 swap parts car I only have 1 cat now, and I know for the 97 z28 have 2. Would it benifit me to have 2 cat's?

do you have emissions testing where you live? in other words, do they use an exhaust sniffer? If not, you'd benefit from having no cats...

Two 2.5" cats will flow better than one 3" cat. It just depends on
your budget. Note that the factory dual cats (96-97) are only 2.2"
or thereabouts.

Whether you use one or two is up to you, but I would not use the two factory CATS. The factory drivers side CAT is in the worst location and put gobs of heat into the engine compartment.
