Do I have the signs of valve float?

I just finished putting in my new cam and at any RPM over 6K it sounds like I am VERY VERY faintly hitting the rev limiter and I can feel the power drop off a hair. It definatly doesn't have the smooth sound it has at the lower RPM's. Is that a sign of vavle float?

Its hard to describe what it sounds like unless you are there to hear it. In my experiences in the past (not in my camaro) the car will stop pulling and have a really weird sound to it. When you decelerate you can feel the engine pick back up and the sound returns to normal.

Don't know if that was any help.
