Do I have to plug the Water pump gear hole for Meziere install??

I put in the meziere and I took out the water pump gear drive and bearing. Is it really necessary to plug up that hole with a plug?? thanks~~rob

If you removed the drive that is located under the timing cover I believe that you do need to plug the hole. If you just removed the spline that connects the the drive under the cover to the rear of the old waterpump, no the seal will keep it from leaking. Hope this didn't confuse you. Frank95z
