Do the front tires really matter??

I plan on buying some Nitto 555rs for the back. Can't I get some cheap front tires from Pep Boys or something like that????

Of course front tires matter; you steer with your front tires (now if you the car is track only, then it is different). Now I don't know how much or how good the PepBoys tires are, but I wouldn't put them on my car Buy some Nitto 555s (non-DRs) for the fronts, they match the pattern of the Nitto DRs. Just my opinion, good luck.

Pep boys has good prices on tires(I was looking at the 165r 15's and they were $25 shipped each). Only thing to check is make sure they have them in stock otherwise it'll take 3 weeks or more to get them. Order online and you won't have to pay shipping or tax.

I have 17x9.5 ZR1s so the rear tires are going to be 275/40/17. The fronts will be 255s. The reason why I asked is because I'm trying to save as much money as possible.

Well if you just have the average car with occasional track passes, there's abosolutely nothing wrong with getting cheap front tires. If you're looking to road race or drive very aggresively (especially in the rain), then you should look into getting some higher end tires.

No they don't matter if your not concerned about cornering, BUT, Please check the speed rating. Get something v (149) w (168) y(186) or z (150+ which may also be rated w or y).

You can go 245/45/17 as well on a 9.5, thats what i have.

*Edit* I guess U 124 or H 130 could be alright too, but the point is that you have a car capable of 150, please don't exceed the speed rating of the tire.

Get the lowest speed rating, it'll keep you from being an ******* on the road. Unless of course you have a car capable of 130+ in the 1/4 mile
