Do 93's have a knock module??

If they do could you use the LT4 knock module on a 93 and would it be of any benefit even with a stock motor??

No knock modules until 94. Main benifit of a LT4 KM on a 94+ is to prevent ignition retard from occuring if you upgrade to self aligning roller rockers (like on an LT4) which create alot of noise which gets interpreted as knocking, The LT4 KM is less sensitive.
So on 93 cars you can make them as noisy as you want and only iritate yourself.

They have a KM but you can not use an LT4 KM. There are instructions somewhere on the web showing you how to desensitive the stock KM.

thanks pearlpurlple,

I didn't know I had anything to worry about, I was planning on installing non-SA rockers just cause I don't like needless noise but this gives me yet another reason.

Is this the link?

http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/6647/ta93/knock.htm

Anyone had experience? Or a better question, is there a way to compare LT1 to LT4 KM, and then "apply" that change to the 93 module?

93 owners, I'm reading different things here. All I care about is this: Can I be a noisy Fothermucker and not worry about knock retard? (READ - straight pipe, valvetrain, all future plans.)

If not, what do 93 owners do? Thanks.

Nate.

I wouldnt worry about it. I hear they are not nearly as sensitive as a reg LT1 KM. If you worry about it just run a scan tool and look for it, and if you find some you can always desensitize it.
