Question DIY - Positive Battery Cable

Hey all, I want to replace my cracked/corroded battery cable in my 95Z. I would like to do this really right (better Gauge wires etc.)

Does anyone have a link on how to do this properly? Looking at the cable there's 3 wires, running to the Alternator, Starter and Junction box from the side terminal. What gauge and length wires will I need?

I'm not electrical expert, but do understand some basics on how to make good connections. Any advice is appreciate! Thanks

The factory manuals show the wire gage in metric units. The wire size precedes the insulation color on the diagrams. Shoebox has the 95 wiring diagrams on his website. I'm not sure how to convert the metric size to AWG.

Is the metric unit the "SWG" column in the above link or the "No or Letter Drill" column or "Cross Section mm^2"?
