DIY for alternator on 94 Z28

Can someone point me in the direction of an online DIY for an alternator in a 1994 Z28 - red

Car used to be mine, years ago... and I sold it to my best friend, who now lives a few hundred miles away. He's not all that good with cars, but if I can find a good DIY with pictures, I'm sure he can find his way through it.

Thanks!

Tried the search btw, didn't see anything.

The alternator is very easy to replace.

Disconnect the negative terminal on the battery.
Remove the belt (13mm wrench, pull down on the middle of the tensioner to release it).

Then it's just a matter of unbolting everything attached to it. A good socket and wrench set is all you really need. There are several brackets holding on the alternator plus one heavy wire connection and one electrical plug. If he is still unsure have him take a picture of everything beforehand.

Lol I told him the exact same thing. He won't even touch it without pictures so I was hoping someone documented it... Sort of like you did with your fuel tank trapdoor.

I tried posting this on fbody.com (bobgodd) also but for some reason the webwasher here at work has it blocked.

LOL!

Yeah, if he looks at www.shbox.com there should be enough pics to help him along the way. It really isn't hard at all.

If he's that worried about screwing up an alternator swap, maybe he should be paying someone else to do it. He ain't the kind of guy who complains about every problem with it after the sale, is he?

Not that kind of guy... just not very mechanically inclined. He's had the car for four or five years now, and it is starting to have charging problems.

Oh yea and lack of funds is the other issue

There is coverage of the alternator in my cam removal guide in the removing the intake manifold section.
