Distributor help!!!

Distributor help!!!

Welll my dad was driving my car to work and it messed up and i guess he had to get it towed..so i just got the diagnosess back today...and they think its the distributor...they quoted around $500 for the part and 250$ for the labor...previously to this my o2 sensor went and i got that replaced...is this common with 97 z28's or is this bad????

Also where can i purchase a distributor for less than this places quoted price?

One of these guys can get a GM distributor for about for about $230.
