Distinguishing between a '97 Z28 and SS

I'm just wondering if all SS's had SS badges in '97? My friend saw a car for sale that had Z28 badges but the SS hood and intake and also different wheels (I haven't seen the car yet). He also said it had 30th Anniversary written on the seats, dash, and floormats. I'm just wondering if it's possible that it's go all the SS options but Z28 badges? What are the biggest features to look for when distinguishing between a Z28 and SS? Thanks

Yes, all SS's have SS badges.

Owners customized their cars whether they have SSs or Z28s. Things get changed from the time they leave the factory and go through several owners.

all camaro's in 97 had embroided 30th anniversary seats FYI.
What to look for in a 97 SS is the ZR1 wheels, 275/40/17.9 wheels BFG wheels comp/ta. All SS's have SS badging on them, also there is an SS badge inside the car above the radio, just below the center vents. SS floormats, the slp exhaust w/ the twin outlet on the left side(option) hood, but also look for the ram air induction, shoud say "camaro SS" on it on all 97's, although I could be wrong the early 97 SS's may have "z28 SS". The spoiler will also be different, little bit of a raise in it. That is about all I can think of off the top of my head.

Thanks guys, I just wasn't sure if someone would pay the extra money to have the SS hood and intake put on after they bought the car rather then when new.

He said it has just under 100k miles (like 98k or something) and it's a 6 speed car that's real clean, even under the hood was clean and the car was once registered in Florida. Does $8500 sound like a reasonable price for this car, a Z28 with the SS hood and intake, and a possible cat-back? Thanks again guys.

I was looking in a wheels and deals and saw a 96 SS(basically the same thing) that was selling for just a tad under 9600$
and it was loaded with slp exhaust, t tops, leather, m6 etc etc, and it had a tad under 100,000 miles. That is pretty good deal if you ask me.
