Discovered Something During Motor Drop

Discovered Something During Motor Drop

well during my motor swap and the car was on the lift i noticed something which could have killed my A/C from working looks like the passenger header melted the what looks like the A/C condensor box am i right or what is that thing??

The a/c evaporator and heater core is what is on the firewall, if that's what you mean.

I think its fiberglass. My engine is out too, and I noticed the same thing. My headers now have a nice coating on them to keep them cool, so I hope I wont have that problem any more.

yea its this black box on the passengr side and it burnt a nice hole in it and if i look inside it looks like a condensor or like u said heater core but would that stop my air from workin

I plan on making a heat shield for that thing because my long tubes made a nice burn mark on it.
