well I've got about 4 decent reasons for why to get rid of them for my application:
1. I have 94-97 headers which the o2 bungs are too close to the trans. pan so I just plugged them (not a big deal, i actually got other o2 bungs, i would just have to drill into the headers and weld them in, but keep reading)
2. I want to run open headers.. this will be a problem since the o2s won't be far enough away from the end of the collectors to prevent false readings
3. I also intend to run 110 octane gas, which is leaded and will destroy these o2s within 50 hours
4. The 93 o2s will prolly not work properly anyway since they now will be too far down the collectors creating a issue with keeping them at operating tempretures.. meaning I would have to upgrade to heated o2 sensors to have properly functioning o2s.

Re: disconnecting 02s..

You have long tubes right?

They are the same 93-97. I've got them in my car with both a automatic and manual.. the o2's are in no different place in any model LT1 with long tubes. You will not have any clearance issues..

Ok, fair enough.. open headers.. I don't really understand why.. you'll probally be faster, quieter, and actually streetable with some sort of exhaust..

Also, fair enough.. Seems like your building a race car.

4. If you want to upgrade them you can do a simple heated O2 swap.. that way they will stay warm

Re: disconnecting 02s..

i dunno, they are groty 94-97 longtube headers. They are on the car and there is less than a 1/4" between the trans pan and the o2 bungs, there seriously no way i'd be able to use those bungs even if I wanted to. It's no big deal I could easily put in some o2 bungs either in the collectors I just can't see a practical reason to use them, besides the car running better in changing conditions, but then again I only really drive the car during the summer when its nice out.
