Digging through my archives.

I have an issue of Chevy High Performance from back in Feb 99. Apparently there used to be a company called LT1 Motorsports. They built a 597 hp LT1. Not too shabby for back then.. The thing that got my attention the most was the belt drive on the front. It had a Mini Ram, 396 cu in., AFR 220's, monoblade, custom solid roller and a DFI setup. I was just surprised to see it do that well for 8 yr old technology. Just thought I'd share, I knew I kept these old rags around for something.

There hasen't been any real break-through technology in the past 10 years in the V8 world. A lot of what we see nowadays is trickle down race stuff, new to us but not new.

Yeah, I guess you're right, this was still pretty good stuff though, even today a lot of guys aren't using some of the tech in this build.
