Difference between LS1 and LT1 muffler?

Are there any differences in performance between the muffler on a stock '93 LT1 and a stock '02 LS1...I kinda have no choice at this moment in time to have the stock '02 LS1 on my car...so I was wondering if it was providing any more performance than the original one...

The reason I had to go to this one because when I originally got the car(113,000 miles) it had some exhaust system put on it...either really quiet Flowmasters or a Magnaflow system...the surround in the muffler had basically gotten messed up recently and we had my dad's stock muffler and tips laying around...so we had our shop put them on....and it feels quicker now...

Ok, sorry for the somewhat lengthy read, basically my question is have I gotten any gains from the stock muffler from the '02 since I swithced from the magnaflow that was on there?

Also, was there a difference in the stock mufflers on the '93 and '02 at all?

Thanks,

~Kevin

The muffler internals are very similar, but you aren't going to gain anything by going with the LS1 muffler over the '93 LT1. There *might* be a slight increase in back pressure with the LS1 muffler. Neither is great for maximum performance, but they will pass federal pass-by noise requirements while sounding decent. They are also stainless...

Sorry to give you the bad news.
