Difference between low and high rise ta spiler hatches?

Whtas the difference between the hatches for a high and low rise ta? It looks like the spoilers mount different, so there'd some extra holes or new holes to be drilled. Is this the only difference? Or are they shaped different or? Thanks!

I have been told that if you want to replace or change to the different spoiler you have to change the entire hatch

The low rise is what you see on V6's and Furmulas... The spoiler that is completely attached to the rear deck lid.

The high rise is what you see on the T/A's... The big wing only touching the rear deck lid in a couple spots.

To put the big wing on you have to buy the entire hatch, thats what I did on my 96 Formula WS6.

Not to get off of the topic of the post... but I figured I'd add a correction...

The low rise is the only one on the V6s and Formulas... however many of the '93-'97 T/As had low rise spoilers...

I may be wrong, please correct me if I am, but I believe this is how it worked for the Fourth Gen T/As:

'93 - All low rise
'94-'95 - Low rise standard, high rise called "Trans AM GT"
'96-'97 - High rise standard, delete option to low rise available
'98+ - All high rise

The years for the LT1 models may be off a little, but that's pretty close to being accurate.

I believe all convertibles, no matter what model, had the low spoiler.

4th gen Convertables had it every year. When the firebird GT was alive in 93-94 you could get trans ams with the low rise spoiler. IF you got the firebird trans am GT you got the high rise spoiler.

Yeah you're a little off it's actually like this

93s All High rise
94s standard low rise, high rise only avaliable with TA GTs
95s standard low rise, high rise optional (ta gt no longer a option)
96-02 ALL HIGH RISE

so basically only 94 and 95s could have a low spoiler, and shoebox is correct as usual all convertibles 93-02 have the low spoiler.
