Well, A4 is automatic with O/D and M6 is a 6 speed manual transmission. Pros and cons go both ways, but in the end, if you want to make your car a drag car/bracket racing get the Auto. It will very consistent and with a high stall converter and shift kit, will out shift any manual car, even with the best driver. However, if this is just more of a show/play car, most people choose the M6, I guess because they think they have more control? Not sure. Me, I am just lazy and I am always stuck in traffic or at stoplights, and I like to eat and drink while driving...

I agree with Travis. If you don't seriously race your car, it is just a matter of personal preference.

A-4s are for those who are coordination challenged. A chimp can drive an A-4. It takes some skill to drive an M-6.

That's basically the difference (s).

Any questions?

a ricer once told me

V8's are for those who are automotivly challenged. A chimp can make a V8 fast. It takes some skill to make a 4cyl fast.

Why not win, win easier, win cheaper, and win more reliably?

if its racing, auto.

twisties, fun car ok
dont go off saying A4 drivers get it because they are un-coorinated

and what do you have against chimps

I've had my car for 14 months.
"hassels" used to be fun
(changing oil, gaskets etc, workin on my car)
Now, i prefer to have it run as long as possible without me touching it. my friends will tell you the same

Take one of each for a drive and you be the judge.
I have and I find the M6 more fun to drive.
Just my opinion.

When i first purchased my Camaro it had to be an Automatic cuz i didn't feel like shifting and i've been brought up around drag racing and 98% of bracket racers use Auto's.

However last summer i took my buddies 94'Z28 (M6) out for a drive more than once and i fell in LOVE with it. It was the most fun i have ever had driving a car.

The real determining factor is, are you drag racing it? If so, Auto and stall converter is for you. I have said and have always said my IROC is more of a show car/street car, i take it out on the weekends and have fun so that is what made my decision for a M6 swap in my IROC. I agree with the statement, if you can get a ride or drive somebody's M6 go for it, see how you like it, base your desicion on that..

Re: difference between a4 and m6 which is better

I dont think he knew what everyone was referring to when they said A4 and M6... Could have been two different options or something for all he might have known.

PS: Everyone knows that M6 models are better....

I'll like having an A4 better when I stuff a 4L80 under there. Built to the hilt with a stall and a t-brake.

Have you ever been in a car with a trans brake? HOLY COW IT'S AWSOME!!! It's the greatest kick in the *** you'll ever get.

I agree with the above. Drage racing= A4 and for twisties I say a M6.

M6s are WAY more fun though.
