I know the crank gear is at 12 but I dnt remember if the cam gear was at 12 or 6. I'm fairly certain piston 1 and 6 are both at the top because those are the last springs I changed. What do I do? Does it make a difference if I put it at 12 or 6?

You always put the timing marks closest to each other. In other words the crank mark is on top and the cam gear mark is on the bottom.
