did my MAF die ???

ok i was crusing up a hill in 4th about 3-4grand and car starts surgging and spuddering a bit, and the RPM's are all over the place- goin to like 1500 to like 5000 while the car is surrgin. so i pull over and it idles fine , for a lil while i milk it over to a parking lot, and it starts to idle weird, the motor revs it self up and down spudders, pops, while the R's are jumpin around still from like 600 to like 3 or 4 grand -junpin allover, i cant figure it out, my bro said MAF but i have no clue. so i need lots of help new plugs, wires, opti, fuel filter, throws 0 codes. so???

Unplug the MAF and she how it runs, the PCM will switch to running speed density mode.

Re: did my MAF die ???

Could be just a dirty MAF. Buy some electronic cleaner spray from Radio Shack and spray the sensor wires. Carefully clean them as they are fragile.

First thing that popped into my brain was "IAC." Do a search on how to remove and clean and see if that fixes your problem. Also, try pulling off the MAP sensor and clean it. When I had a similar problem, these two things fixed my problem.
