did the intake leak fix and now i have a check engine light and my fans are always on
okay well my car was leaking oil bad so did pulled the intake off. i have it all back together and running. but now i have a check engine light on. when i start the car it goes off for a few seconds then the light comes on and the fans also come on at the same time. my fans are always on even if the car is cold. i have everything plugged in. i check all the vacum hose's to. please help.
This is just a guess, but, check your connection and the wires going to the a/c compressor. Reason, fans usually come on when u turn on your a/c. Or, check connection at the AIR pump, that fuse also ties in with the fans.

Also check your connection to the water temp sending unit. I broke mine off once and my fans ran all the time and got a light as well.

I know, I know, I need the the fan mod.
I did headers and intake leak at the same time and had the EXACT same thing happen to me.
I would start the car and the check engine light would come on. Then the Fans would come on. It did that for like two or three days. I think when I put my MSD ignition in it went away and the only thing I could think of was that I reset the PCM by disconnecting the battery. But I know for a fact that I disconnected it before that to adjust my panhard bar so go figure. Give it a try and reset the PCM. You might not get lucky but I don't have the check engine light and my fans operate normal again also the MSD isn't hooked up so I know that installing it wasn't what fixed it either.

Unfortunately, a lot of ailments are self-induced.
