DFI users: quick question

the questions asked are referring to the accel DFI Gen 6 system for a lt1 part number 74022-L.
Can you change the cyllinder Firing Order wtih the DFI system programmed for the LT1? Does DFI use a crank and cam trigger or just the crank? and can you run a distributer with the DFI?

Thanks!

Chad

In the DFI 6 that I've used (non-LT1), the firing order is set. If it can be changed, it's very well hidden.

On FAST, it's very easy to change though.

I know you have to specify firing order on the Gen 7, but I'm not sure about the Gen 6. For the LT1, the DFI system reads the cam pulse from the OPTI and still uses it as a distributor. If you want to run a distributor you can, but you have to run the car in batch mode unless you leave the opti attached for the cam pulse (or you rig up something like a flying magnet), then you can still run it in sequential mode. You may have to splice a few wires to make it work with the opti and a distributor, I'm not sure though.
